Light Side or Dark Side? Cute Star Wars Holiday Ornaments!

Now that all of us here in the U.S. are overstuffed with assorted meats (or non-meats) for what may be the next full week, it’s time to look forward to the festivities of the holidays. Decorating the Christmas tree was always a major tradition in my house — as was making our own ornaments. So when you take a ten year old Star Wars fan and leave her with tons of new, disposable mini figurines from assorted prequel promotions at local fast food joints, you get Anakin Skywalker as a Christmas tree ornament.

Yep — I used to glue hooks to my KFC toys and hang them on my tree. I was ten! They had to go somewhere!

But, for those of us looking to avoid covering our collectibles in superglue, creative Christmas ornaments are where it’s at. This year, in celebration of the Star Wars saga and December 18th’s release, Merchoid is releasing an adorable new line of figurines that I think you’ll really like. All of these ornaments are currently on pre-order, and discounted for your holiday glee!

I LOVE the adorable blush on the Han (Hoth) ornament from the Empire Strikes Back set – it’s absolutely my favorite, and that’s saying a lot for a girl who prefers to root for Leia more than anyone else! I can’t resist my space boyfriend. What can I say?

Check out the full gallery below for details on each set:

All of these adorable designs are on sale on Merchoid new, and they’re an officially licensed line of goodies. I love these adorable little baubles and I can’t wait to add them to my collection – after all, who wouldn’t want to hang their glue-covered Darth Vader right near the Death Star Ornament?

Despite the mainstream hype, shopping for the geek in your life can be challenging. Last year, I threw together something of a rushed list, primarily because I was shopping for the fandom-obsessed lovelies in my life. But this year, I’ve decided to create a slightly more specific list, in order to help you knock out that Secret Santa or get something special for your nerdy someone.

I’ve also included DIY bonus ideas at the bottom of this post, so scroll down to save some moolah. :)

This sweet ring is made for the Batfamily-obsessed comic fan in your life. I personally dig it because it’s not only Batman, but also seems to recall the crazy patterns of Marty McFly Jr’s hat from Back to the Future.

A phone case for the scientist, galaxy print fanatic, or sci-fi fan. I personally own one for my phone, and it is amazing —  it’s got an awesome velvety feel and doesn’t chip or scratch very easily. My experience with COMKES has been great (super quick shipping, careful packaging) so I recommend this to anyone who needs a new case! It comes for iPhone 4/4s, 5/c/s, and the Samsung Galaxy S4.

For the vampire-obsessed…

For the fandomites…

Geeky Tees! – $6-$12

Check out Day of the Shirt for cheap, well-made tees. I recommend this for those of you buying for our fandom-obsessed comrades — the SuperWhoLocks, the Westeros/Night Watch-aligned, and the 90’s obsessed. These are great little fandom gifts that will definite make them smile!
